Volunteer
Effective volunteering in a disaster is organized through NGOs with a presence on the ground. If you do not have specific rescue or emergency training, donating money is the most useful way to help.
If you have medical, logistics or engineering training, these are the coordination channels:
- Venezuelan Red Cross: coordinates local volunteering. Contact at x.com/CruzRojaVe or at their offices.
- Verified NGOs at /donate with a presence on the ground: IFRC, IRC, Save the Children, UNICEF. /donar
A humanitarian principle that saves lives
Do not travel independently to the affected area without prior coordination with an accredited organization. Uncoordinated volunteers multiply chaos and can delay the rescue of trapped people.

Frequently asked questions
- How do I volunteer?
- If you have professional training (medical, logistics, engineering), contact the Venezuelan Red Cross directly or the verified NGOs at /donate that operate on the ground. For non-specialist volunteering, a monetary donation is more useful.
- Do they need on-site volunteers?
- In most disasters, NGOs prefer monetary donations over spontaneous unqualified volunteering. Verify with the organization before traveling.
